Laboratory Study

Sleep, Health, and Wellness Project

The Laboratory Study

The Sleep, Health, and Wellness Laboratory Study will involve 60 minutes of your time. You will be invited to participate in this part of the study in the research laboratories in Cois Abhann, located beside the Kingfisher Leisure Club on the NUI Galway campus.

The laboratory study will involve four activities

  1. Blood pressure monitoring using the Finometer
  2. Saliva sampling
  3. Computer tasks
  4. Questionnaires/Surveys

To examine in more detail what these four activities involve, please see the appropriate webpages on your right.

In summary, when you are participating in the Sleep, Health, and Wellness Laboratory Study you will be asked to complete a number of tasks on the computer, while being attached to a Finometer (which is a blood pressure monitor). You will be asked to provide about 4 saliva samples throughout this part of the study. Finally, you will be asked to complete a number of short questionnaires or surveys. You will spend no longer than 60 minutes participating in this part of the study.
